Baby, It’s Cold Outside!
December 31 is not exactly balmy in Harrisonburg, but consider that First Night® is held in Boston and Buffalo, and we seem tropical!
Layer, layer, layer! Dress warmly and dress in layers. Wear a hat, and protect your extremities. Almost all performance venues are indoors, so you will have periods of protection from the weather during the evening. Downtown restaurants will also be open, so you can escape from the cold by enjoying a nice meal.
First Night® will not cancel for rain. The Executive Director has the prerogative to cancel First Night® should snow or ice be so extreme that the safety of our community and attendees is jeopardized. Tune to local radio, television, and this web site for (very unlikely) cancellation notices.
